Search Help for AUETD
The
basics of AUETD searches
To enter a query into AUETD,
select a search option and type in a few descriptive words or names.
Hitting the 'enter' key will NOT trigger the search—you must
click on “Go!”
Results are displayed in the
following order:
1) results with THE EXACT PHRASE
2) results with ALL of the words
3) results with ANY of the words
Refining or narrowing a search is
as simple as restricting your search terms, or making another search with
"Search within result" that only searches within the results of a
previous search.
AUETD searches are NOT
case sensitive. All letters, regardless of how typed, will be understood as
lower case. For example, searches for "John Smith", "JOHN SMITH", and "john
smith" will all return the same results.
Search for TITLE
The exact title of the
thesis/project/dissertation is preferred but not required. For example,
searching for "Discrete Analysis of Numerical-Based Topographic Openings,"
"Discrete Analysis," or "Numerical-Based Analysis" will produce the same
results. The more precise the
query, however, the better the results.
Search for AUTHOR
Any name format is acceptable.
For example, when searching for "John Smith," entering "John Smith,"
"Smith, John," "Smith," or "John" will produce good results.
Search for KEYWORD
AUETD
searches for keywords in the abstract/summary.
For best results, choose keywords wisely. There is no
need to include "and" or "or" between terms. The order in which terms are typed
will NOT affect search results. "Stopwords" are not searchable.

Search for DEPARTMENT
A search by department will
generate a list of every thesis/project/dissertation produced within one of
Auburn
University
’s academic
departments.
Search for MAJOR PROFESSOR
The format of the name is not
restricted. For example, when searching for "Dr. Kai Chang," "Kai Chang,"
"Chang, Kai," "Chang," or “Kai” will produce good results.
Search for YEAR
Select the year when the thesis/project/dissertation was
published.
