What is the difference between a graduate student and a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA)?

A Graduate Teaching Assistant is a graduate student who will fulfill a teaching role during their assistantship. GTAs are responsible for teaching a class or assisting a professor teach, grade, and perform other classroom tasks. If you will not be serving in a teaching role during the Spring semester, you do not need to stay for the GTA sessions.
