Auburn University Graduate School has made temporary changes to testing requirements.  Please see the appropriate section below for details (subject to change based on departmental requirements).

GRE/GMAT Testing

Programs waiving the GRE/GMAT test score requirement:

Special Notes:

  • The Entomology MS, MAg and PhD programs do not require the GRE, but do leave the overall requirement up to the individual Principal Investigator.
  • For applicants who are having difficulties submitting test scores for the Consumer and Design Sciences MS and PhD programs, CADS asks applicants to submit an academic writing sample instead (e.g., English written thesis, conference proceeding paper, journal article, final research paper from courses you have taken). The academic writing sample should be the applicant’s own work. If submitting a writing sample that is co-authored with someone, the applicant should have put at least 50% of effort into that work.
  • While the GRE is required as an evaluation tool, the Mechanical Engineering MS and PhD programs will use flexibility regarding submission deadline, conditional admission, and cut-off limits.
  • The GMAT is not required for applicants to the Accountancy Online MAcc. The GMAT is optional but recommended for AU undergraduates for the on-campus MAcc program, and required for non-AU students.
  • The Full-Time MBA, Online MBA, MS Finance, MS Information Systems, and MS Supply Chain Management programs will waive the GMAT/GRE test score requirement for applicants that meet established criteria. Please visit the program pages on harbert.auburn.edu for more information.
  • The Executive MBA, Physicians Executive MBA and Master of Real Estate Development programs do not require the GMAT.
