Overview Of Accommodations
- Temporary housing accommodations will be in Boyd Residence Hall on the Auburn University campus. (see location on map below)
- Accommodations in Boyd Residence Hall will include the following.
- Each room will be shared with one other occupant of the same gender.
- The building will include both male and female occupants. Each floor of the building is limited to one gender.
- Room assignments will be made by the Graduate School and University Housing.
- Each room will share an adjoining bathroom with one other room that will have 1-2 occupants, as shown in the floor plan image here.
- Each occupant will be furnished with the following in the room.
- One twin extra-long bed
- Individual closet space
- Desk
- Dresser
- Rooms are not furnished with any electronics or appliances (no television, microwave or refrigerator, etc.)
- Sheets, blanket and pillow will be provided.
- Each occupant will be issued a key to unlock his/her designated room as well as an electronic access card to enter the building.
- Each building has the following shared accommodations:
- Lounge/common seating area with cable TV
- Laundry facilities
- Limited kitchen facilities
- Campus wi-fi (with university login)
- All rules and regulations regarding conduct, safety, and security as outlined in the Guide to Residential Living must be followed. In particular, please note the following:
- Alcoholic beverages may not be consumed or stored in residence halls or anywhere on Auburn University Campus, regardless of a person’s age
- Smoking is not allowed anywhere on Auburn University Campus
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be an International Graduate Student
- Auburn Global students are not eligible
- Must be a newly enrolled, first-time arrival to Auburn University
- Must complete an application before the application deadline of July 23, 2019
- Spouses and children will not be eligible for these accommodations.
Length Of Stay Requirements
- A minimum of 2 nights must be reserved.
- Applicants may request to begin their stay anytime during the period of August 1 to August 11, 2019
- Participants may stay as many additional nights as needed until the move out deadline of August 13, 2019 at 9 a.m.
- To checkout, students must go to the AU Housing office, 305 West Samford, Burton Hall, Monday through Friday during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Costs Involved
- The cost for the above accommodation will be $20 per person per night for double occupancy room.
- Students will be billed by AU Housing after termination of their stay.
- Bill will include cost of the initial 2 night minimum plus the nightly rate of $20 per person for any additional nights prior to the day of checkout.
- To checkout, students must go to AU Housing office, 305 West Samford, Burton Hall, Monday through Friday during the hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- At checkout students are expected to return keys and access cards
Additional Fee will be charged for the following:
- Lost/non-returned electronic access card ($15 per card)
- Lost/non-returned room key ($100 per key)
- Failure to cancel reservation before the confirmation deadline ($40)
- Damages to room
