Six faculty members honored as Outstanding Graduate Mentors
Six Auburn faculty members have been selected as the Graduate Student Council’s 2024 Outstanding Graduate Mentors.
This year’s recipients are:
- Symone Alexander, Chemical Engineering
- J. Brian Anderson, Civil Engineering
- Evelyn Hunter, Special Education, Rehabilitation, and Counseling
- Michael Roberts, Kinesiology
- Ashraf Uddin, Geosciences
- Michelle Zorn, Management and Entrepreneurship
This award is particularly meaningful to faculty recipients, as nominations and winners are determined entirely by graduate students. This year, a record number of 50 nominations were received and reviewed by Graduate Student Council Senators who serve on the OGMA review committee. The top six faculty nominees are selected based on the strength of the graduate student nominees’ letters of support. The Graduate Student Council award recognizes graduate faculty who go above and beyond their duty as teachers, advisers and mentors.
The 2024 Outstanding Graduate Mentors were recognized along with other student and staff award recipients at the Graduate Awards Ceremony on April 26 in the Melton Student Center. The Graduate Student Council has presented the Outstanding Graduate Mentor Awards since 2008.
