Students have the option to select dental and/or vision insurance coverage through Blue Cross & Blue Shield of AL (BCBS). This is not required, but an optional plan in which students can enroll at any point throughout the year, even if you do not currently have the BCBS student health insurance. Students may select student, spouse, and family coverage for either dental, vision, or both.
To enroll in dental and/or vision coverage at any time, visit the auburn.mycare26.com website and select the dental & vision plans button. This will direct users to the BCBS website where enrollment and payment information can be entered. Students can pay monthly, quarterly, or annually for the additional coverage out of pocket, but these are not billed through their AU student e-bill.
Enrollment options are also available on student’s existing auburn.mycare26.com account, the mobile app, and the website. For assistance with these plans, please contact the phone number listed on the website, as the AU Insurance Office does not manage dental or vision insurance plans.
If you elect the vision insurance coverage, this will be attached to your medical insurance card once you enroll, so there is no additional vision insurance card. If you elect dental insurance coverage, you will receive a separate card for dental insurance.
